Dismissal Procedures

Dear Parents/Guardians:

We are reviewing dismissal procedures to continue to ensure the safety of all students. The school must have accurate information on the individuals who are authorized to pick-up your children. We cannot release students to anyone who you have not authorized. Notify the main office as soon as possible when there are changes to this list. Pick-up time for all students is 3:00 PM. If you are going to be late in picking-up your children, please notify the school office as soon as possible. Students who are being picked-up will remain with their teacher until 3:20 PM. At 3:20 PM any student who has not been picked-up will be brought to the main office and the parent/guardian will be called.

Parents must always notify the main office that their children will be picked-up by a taxi service. No student will be released to a taxi service without parent/guardian permission. Any taxi service picking-up a child will be required to show valid identification, student names, drop-off address, and name of parent/guardian.

Thank you for your time. Your child’s safety is important to us.

Respectfully,

James Wager, Principal

Harvest/Halloween Celebrations

Dear Parents/Guardians:
After careful consideration, our Harvest/Halloween celebrations will be held on Friday 28 October 2011. These activities will be contained within the classroom and/or grade level group. We are asking that students not wear or bring their costumes to school on Friday 28 October 2011 or Monday 31 October 2011. Students will still have the opportunity to celebrate the Harvest/Halloween season while preserving our goal of a safe and productive academic day. Thank you for your cooperation and continued support in working with us to provide the best possible academic experiences for your children.

Respectfully,

James Wager, Principal

October Update

I would like to take a moment to thank the students, staff, and parents for making my first month at RPES both pleasurable and productive. As I get to know the students and staff, it is clear that we are working towards providing a safe and productive learning environment.
I was pleased to have the opportunity to meet so many parents at Open House and I hope you had an opportunity to meet with all of the professionals that works so hard with your children every day.  Through our continued efforts and open lines of communication we can ensure that all of our students will the most productive and successful learning experience.
October brings us into the change of seasons, events and opportunities to that will both serve the academic needs of our students and bring us together as a learning community. Some of our upcoming events are:
· PTA Meeting 10/6 at 6 PM
· PTA Book Fair 10/19-10/21
· Pumpkin Fest 10/21 6-8 PM

Please take some time to come out and support these events.
October also brings us a new Virtue of the Month (see below): Respect, which builds nicely off of our Virtue of September, Responsibility.  The goal of our Virtue of the Month Program is to highlight not only the behavior but lead by example for our students.
Thank you for all of your efforts and by working together October and the rest of the school year will be a success.
